Pros and cons of Hiragana Writing Challenge app for iPhone and iPad

Hiragana Writing Challenge app good for

I was talking to my wife who is japanese asking.......WHATS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN HIRAGANA....she says start from the 46 character chart and learn to write hiragana the correct way.......WOW....I JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE AN IPHONE....SO I CHECKED AND FOUND THIS APP WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED.....I HOPE TO USE THIS OFTEN. GOOD JOB.......i do suggest having example words with to get a good sense of the character....THE immersion affect.....anyhow great job
This app is great except For the fact that it is not possible to stop ot slow the animations of the characters. This makes it more difficult to focus on stroke order. It would be nice if the strokes appeared as if the lines were being drawn and not just as lines.
So far, this is the only app I’ve found that prompts you to write the character *before* it shows you the strokes. It prompts you with the romaji character (spoken aloud also, optionally) and a blank sheet. You write the character, then click to see how close you were to the proper form. The other “testing” apps I’ve seen are really just practice — they show you the strokes and you simply trace on top of them.
Would be the perfect app for practicing the stroke order of hiragana if it featured compatibility with the Apple Pencil stylus as well as settings for the speed of the animated strokes.

Some bad moments

This is a really great app for learning and memorizing hiragana! I love that you can scroll right through the letters without having to back to the main page every time you change letters, and the combination of hearing the letter and writing it yourself helps you really learn without cheating!! BUT.. The biggest problem is they are missing half of the alphabet!!! Like "bu" and "ji" for example and many many more! For this reason Im giving this app 2 stars!!
